PAMPANGA blew out Imus 83-62 on Saturday at the Bren Guiao Convention Center in San Fernando, Pampanga, during the fourth season of the OKbet-MPBL (Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League), which was presented by Xtreme. The game was part of the Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League.

The Giant Lanterns defeated the Bandera by a score of 74-54, thanks in large part to the contributions of Jayson Apolonio, Earnest Reyes, and Archie Concepcion. With this victory, the Giant Lanterns improved to 9-4 in the single round-robin elimination phase of the 22-team tournament, which they are currently competing in.

Imus slides

Pampanga extended their lead to 83-60 and handed Imus its ninth loss in 12 starts as Apolonio’s scoring slump contributed to the team’s overall performance.

Apolonio finished with 14 rebounds and 6 assists for the Giant Lanterns, which are owned by Cong. Concepcion ended up with 17 points, but it was Apolonio who turned in the stronger overall effort for the Giant Lanterns. Pampanga also received contributions from Earnest Reyes and Dominick Reyes, who both scored 11 points for the team.
Pampanga dominated the boards, winning 57-46, and used this advantage to its advantage, scoring 50 points inside the paint while limiting Imus to only 18 points overall in the game.

Imus was able to coax 18 points out of Leo Najorda and 13 points out of Jeymark Mallari.

In the first game, Rizal Xentromall defeated Bacolod Bingo Plus with a score of 67-57, and in the second game, General Santos defeated Mindoro with a score of 105-64.

The Rizal Golden Coolers improved their record to 8-4 thanks to the contributions of Laurenz Paul Victoria (16 points), Troy Mallillin (16 points), and Keanu Caballero (12 points).

Bacolod ended the game with a record of 7-6, with only Alwyn Alday scoring double figures (12 points).

The efforts of Jaypee Belencion, who scored 14 points, Marlon Gomez, who scored 12 points, Nikko Panganiban, Jan Mark Baltazar, and Michole Sorela, who scored 10 points, helped the GenSan Warriors improve to 8-5 and move into third place in the standings.

Aga Bernal scored 15 points for Mindoro, while Marlon Espiritu added 13 points, and Khen Osicos contributed 11 points as the team fell to 1-13.

This season, the Monday night slate of games for the Mountain Pacific Baseball League will be played at the San Andres Sports Complex, which was recently refurbished.
