Earlier, Bacolod Bingo Plus overcame more difficult competition before advancing further in their own quarterfinal playoffs by defeating General Santos City with a score of 81-77. With this victory, they moved closer to the semifinal round.
On October 31, at the same location, Zamboanga, which finished as the top qualifier in the South, and Bacolod will strive to win the best-of-three series in order to advance to the next round.
Zamboanga took the lead early on and never relinquished it, eventually putting the game out of reach with a 77-43 lead late in the fourth quarter. Muntinlupa barely put up any opposition.

In order to avenge its loss against GenSan in the elimination round, 73-76, Bacolod relied on local Jhan McHale Nermal, who scored 20 points and grabbed 22 rebounds, as well as Alwin Alday, who scored 20 points and grabbed five rebounds.
Along with Mark Yee’s 10 points and 12 rebounds, Aaron Jeruta’s 12 points and six assists, and Jeramer Cabanag’s 11 points and five rebounds for the home team were also significant contributions.
Cristopher Masaglang contributed 13 points, Christian Fajarito added 12 points and 10 rebounds, Nico Elorde scored 12 points, while Brian Wendel Hilario scored 10 points for GenSan.
On Tuesday, the second round of the MPBL playoffs will resume at the Ynares Center Arena in Pasig with a pair of games. The match between Sarangani and Rizal will take place at 6:30 PM, and then the match between Quezon City and Pasig will take place at 9:00 PM.
